Welcome to the website of the newly formed Great Western Youth Band. Working towards feeding a stream of young players into the brass band movement and with musical direction from John Winterflood, the organisational structure consists of a Beginner Band, Intermediate Band and the Youth Band. The bands currently rehearse at
St Andrews Methodist Church on a Saturday morning.
Beginner Band: 09:00 - 09:45
Intermediate Band: 09:45 - 10:45
Youth Band: 10:45 - 12:15
The band are always looking for new players, whatever standard. The Beginner band includes members who have only been playing for a few months and the Youth Band includes players who are currently practicing for their diplomas.
The band has strong links with local brass teachers and would be happy to put you in contact with them. Whether the teaching is in schools or privately, teachers always encourage players to get involved in a brass band and through their own experience, know how much enjoyment it can bring.
